Zhonghai Campus Launches Earthquake Drill

2010年5月13日，成外附小中海校区举行了地震预警演练。同学们积极参与其中，在预警演练中学到了很多地震发生时的逃生技巧。

On May 13, 2010, the Zhonghai Campus PSACFLS launched an earthquake drill.  The students have actively partici-
pated in this event and have learned a lot of surviving skills for earthquakes. 

唐山、汶川、玉树，一个又一个的大地震唤起了人们对地震的关注。为提高同学们对地震的认识以及帮助他们了解如何在地震突发时有序地安全逃生，2010年5月13日下午，成外附小中海校区的老师们组织同学参与了地震预警演练。演练于2:05正式开始。同学们在听到预警信号后立刻撤离教室。在老师们的组织下，他们有序的奔跑至指定的安全地点。撤离过程中，同学们按照所学地震常识，都用书本或手臂遮挡住头部，让演练显得十分逼真。到达指定地点后，组织人员清点了人数并对演练过程中表现优异的班级和个人进行了表扬奖励。此后，他们对演练当中存在的问题与不足进行了说明并呼吁同学们去学习更多的地震常识，在地震到来时能做到临危不乱，安全逃生。整个演练持续了近半个小时，2:35演练圆满结束。

Large earthquakes which happened in Tangshan, Wenchuan and Yushu one after another have aroused people’s attention to earthquakes.  On the afternoon of May 13, all the teachers of the Zhonghai Campus held an earthquake drill for the
students to enhance their knowledge of earthquakes and to help them learn how to survive systematically and safely if
earthquakes happen.

The drill began at 2:05 p.m.  No sooner had the students heard the signals than they immediately evacuated out of the
classrooms.  At the organization of the teachers, the students ran to the designated safe places in order.  During the e-
vacuations, the students protected their heads with their books and arms according to the elementary knowledge about
earthquakes they have learned, making the drill really lifelike.  After getting to the designated places, the organizers
counted noses and praised and encouraged the classes and individuals who behaved well during the process.  After that,
they pointed out the problems and drawbacks in this drill and appealed to the students to learn more common knowledge
of earthquakes to keep cool, calm and collected and to survive safely if earthquakes occur.

The whole drill lasted for about half an hour and ended satisfactorily at 2:35.

本次地震预警演练让同学们学到了很多地震逃生的知识，也帮助他们认识到紧急情况下临危不乱的重要性，取得了很好的效果。我们不希望地震的到来，但我们要学会如何正确应对地震的突发。希望同学们能将本次演练中的所得所学传授给更多的同学。

Having let the students learn a lot of knowledge of surviving from earthquakes and having helped them to realize the im-
portance of keeping a calm head, the earthquake drill has achieved excellent results.  Neither of us wants earthquakes to
occur, but we should learn how to correctly deal with paroxysmal earthquakes.  It is hoped that the students can dissem-
inate what we have learned and experienced in this drill to more pupils.
